![]() There are no designated dog areas and they are not allowed in the common areas. We had our dog with us and walking him was a bit of a pain. If you have an extra vehicle, they will charge you. If you need to park your boat trailer, they will charge you. Also your boat will need to fit within the dock space for your site. Before you rent a spot, make sure your RV and vehicle will fit COMPLETELY on your rental site. The private and rental homes are a mix of nice homes on stilts, new trailer homes, old trailer homes and RVs. The interior sites have more foot traffic, golf cart and car traffic. If you can stay in one of the exterior sites, it’s much more quiet. The views from the ocean sites are wonderful. The best things about this place was the delightfully warm pool and being able to dock our boat right at our RV site. There is no better place to spend the winter with daily temperatures usually in the low 80's. It's not your typical RV park, but it's a beautiful area and there is plenty of things to do, especially for the waterlover. Some like ours, are what are considered dry lots, with no access to the water. Some are on more sheltered canals with access to the Atlantic. Some RV lots are right on the seawall overlooking the Atlantic. There is really no beach, but there is a gravel area right overlooking the channel leading out to the open Atlantic. There might be others but I'm only familiar with these two. ![]() I know of two Realtors that handle rentals at Venture Out. It's only about 23 miles from Key West or Marathon. Venture Out is on Cudjoe Key, which is at mile marker 23 in the lower Keys. There are plenty of places to kayak or canoe. You can fish in very shallow water, or be out to deep water in just a few minutes. If you are a fisherman, then you can either go out to the Atlantic, or to the "back country" which is the bay/gulf side. It's a scuba divers haven because it's a short 8 mile trip from the onsite marina out to famous Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. It's a safe environment for children and plenty to do for everyone. If you are on a "dry" lot, you can park your boat and trailer in the overflow lot when not using it. ![]() If you have a boat, and are not on a waterfront lot, your trailer has to go in the overflow lot. If the tow vehicle or toad don't fit, you can park in the overflow lot, for a fee. Your RV and vehicle both have to fit on the driveway and not be hanging out in the street. There are more houses than rv lots, so it's not strictly an RV park.Īll the lots and rv sites are small and not all are big rig friendly, so be careful of any size limitations before you book a site. The rv lots and homes are all individually owned. I'm writing the review so that people will become aware of the hidden gem in the lower Florida Keys. We own an RV lot in Venture Out, so I am not completely unbiased. ![]()
